December 8-15 I went on a 7-day cruise to Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica. I have been to these places before, but I did and saw different things this time. The beach at Passion Island off Cozumel was by far the best. Had nice table mates and an overall nice time on the ship. However, I've decided I like ships with a centrum instead of a Promenade. More places to sit and watch people from the center of the ship.

Christmas Lights
On December 4 I went with Don & Janine and family to downtown Salt Lake City to see the lights. It was a very warm night (50) and was very pleasant walking around town. We went to the food court at City Creek Center to grab a bite to eat.

Birthday
November 28th was Kimberly's 24th Birthday. She was hoping to get a real hippi van, but Lisa and I knew that probably wouldn't happen. So we got together and came up with this. It also took two separate days to complete.

Haunted House
Before I left on my cruise in October, Lisa and I made a Haunted Gingerbread House. It took us two different days to complete, but it was really fun. Lisa molded the witch from a combination of gumpaste and fondant. The gingerbread pieces and decorations were from a kit.

Caribbean Cruise from Boston
On October 28th I boarded the Jewel of the Seas which was supposed to sail that day for the Caribbean. When I arrived on board, we were told that the ship would stay in Boston Harbor until Tuesday, Oct 30th, to wait out Hurricane Sandi. Guests could leave the ship to go into Boston if they wanted to, but the weather was not very good and got worse by Monday afternoon. There were 3 cruise ships and 1 tanker ship in the harbor. Each had a tugboat pushing up against the side of the ship to hold it steady against the dock. By evening there were small white caps on the waves in the harbor, but I didn't feel anything on the ship. I guess Hurricane Sandi hit in the middle of the night when I was fast asleep. We finally left the harbor Tuesday morning. The sea still had large swells and the ship was rocking and rolling pretty bad. Some guests and even crew members got sea sick. Finally on Thursday we got far enough south that the sea calmed down. After that the cruise was calm and enjoyable.

It's actually the ship that's going up and down - not the table top.

We had to skip two ports of the cruise because of the two-day delay, but I had visited them before so it wasn't a total disappointment.

September 22 Norman and I flew to Maui to spend a week in a condo there. We mostly just relaxed and enjoyed the view of the ocean from our lanai and sat on the beach.
